Writing Was The Ultimate Stress Reliever When I Was...

Writing was the ultimate stress reliever when I was growing up. With the ballet, violin and tennis lessons in addition to the endless amount of school homework, writing was like an oasis to me, something that kept me going when I was struggling to manage my daily activities. I would write about almost anything: places I would like to travel to, short stories for fictional characters whom I drew inspiration from characters on television, and even creating stories with me as the main character to spice up my mundane life. The rush of adrenaline when I came up with a new idea, the sense of satisfaction I felt when I read through my essay and the joy I felt when my family and friends enjoyed reading my stories were just few of the many reasons why I loved to write. However, I started to despise writing because of the lack of confidence in the quality of my essays when I started middle school. The constant worry of needing to write an essay in a particular format to get a good grade and t he inability to accurately pen down my ideas on paper made me lose my interest in writing completely. My fear and dislike for writing began during the third year of middle school when I was introduced to the world of argumentative and expository essays. The terms thesis statement, elaboration and analysis all sounded foreign to me and I struggled to grasp the basic understanding of an argumentative essay. To make it worse, I was required to write an argumentative essay immediately after learningShow MoreRelatedThe Mcdonald s : Introduction And History3453 Words   |  14 PagesThe McDonald’s INTRODUCTION AND HISTORY McDonald’s was founded in San Bernardino, California as a drive-in restaurant by Richard and Mac McDonald. Leadership and Communication How Each Generation...

Leadership and Communication A leader’s age and generation plays a significant role in the way they communicate. When different generations come together they bring with them their own worldviews and expectations. An effective leader is able to step out of their generational preferences and customize the way they communicate to the other generations. By effectively addressing and taking advantage of those unique generational differences they can bridge the generations together to create a collaborative, innovative and exciting work environment resulting in a highly productive and performing workforce. Generation Communication The way a leader communicates is dependent upon their generation â€Å"Research indicates that people communicate based†¦show more content†¦For these reasons, people who grow up during the same era tend to be exposed to many of the same stimuli from the surrounding culture through the news, media, music, and other cultural factor†. (Warner Sandberg, 2010 p. 2). A leader who understands the generational differences can effectively communicate to them for example â€Å"Traditionals† (born 1925 to 1945) like to communicate through face-to-face contact, formal social events, as well as direct mail and by telephone. Many use e-mail but this is not the best way to communicate with them. â€Å"BabyBoomers† (born 1945 to 1963) like to have face to face, group meetings, telephone and email. Many use cell phones but not for texting. â€Å"Generation X† (born1964 to 1983) they prefer immediate communication through e-mail, cell phone, text, blogging and i nstant messaging and they prefer less of the face to face meetings, and finally â€Å"Generation Y† (born 1984 to2000) is the first generation to grow up with the internet—they do not remember a time when it did not exist. This generation is technology dependent because of this and they prefer to be communicated through text, social media, and instant message. They use e-mail but usually only for work. Some dumb Essay Example For Students

Some dumb Essay Honeymoon NightHave a piece of paper and writing utensil. Put the paper on the floor. Instruct each guest that they are to bend over, without bending their legs, and trace their handprint on the paper. Have someone recording what each guest says while attempting to do this. Once completed, announce This is what brides name is going to say on her wedding night. Then read what each person said. Examples include: Theres no way I can do that! OW! That hurts! Am I doing this right? I cant reach that far! The Name GameI have given several showers and I have found that one of the games that is always a big hit is what I like to call The Name Game. You get a piece of paper and a pen and have everyone write the name of the bride and groom down the edge of the paper. You then give everyone 3 minutes to write down things that have to do with a wedding that start with the letters in the names. When the timer is done then have everyone compare answers, if someone has the same answer then it doesnt count. So after everyone has read their answers then who ever has the most wins!Design a VeilDivide guests into teams of 3 or 4. Give each team the following: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 2 strips of ribbon about 12 inches long, and a few silk flowers (ones with bendable wire stems work the best). Tell them to design a veil for the bride, using one team member as the model. To keep the talking down, tell them that they only have 5 minutes (actually give them between 7 10 minutes). TAKE PICTURES!! The bride must then wear the veil while opening her present, and one has actually used it at the rehearsal! This is so funny, and much quicker than the full gown. The Real Story A game we did at a bridal shower was to divide the room into groups of 5 to 6 people. The head table (less the bride) would be a group also. then we handed each group a page filled with questions that would be answered in story form. the first person in the group would answer the first question, then fold her paper back so no one could see her answer and give the paper to the second person in her group. She/he in turn would answer the second question, fold her answer back and pass it on the the third person. Questions would be such as: 1. The brides name is2. The grooms name is3. They met. 4. The brides first impression of the groom was and so on. You can make up your own questions. While all the groups are working on their love story of the bride, the bride has her own copy which she totally answers by herself with the true answers. When everyone is done, select one person from each group to read their story and at the end, the bride reads the real story. .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 , .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .postImageUrl , .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 , .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:hover , .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:visited , .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:active { border:0!important; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:active , .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043 .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u5504068a9b820f46fe0c82788de43043:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Color Purple - The Struggle To Express Themselves Essay This is quite amusing on how some of the stories come out, especially when you dont know what the person before you wrote. Research Paper on Sewage Treatment Essay Example

Research Paper on Sewage Treatment Essay Sewage treatment is a set of techniques that include water purification to recycle wastewater into the environment, or to convert it into drinking water. In terms of foresight and the Rifkin’s dynamic, as well as under the conception of â€Å"smart and sustainable city† (including automation), there is a tendency to provide, similarly to the Smart Grid, which builds â€Å"smart† energy networks, technical solutions to make water systems more â€Å"intelligent† and efficient (the conception known as Smart Water). A common field between these two approaches could be in the sewage drains heat recovery or the use of water network as a global cooling system. There are two main techniques to purify water, applying to both wastewater treatment and the production of drinking water. The physico-chemical techniques are essentially reserved for the drinking water production. The use of chlorine dioxide, sodium, and ozonation is also effective. In recent years, it took many efforts of the research and development departments to cope with the increasing complexity of pollution, regardless of its source. New fertilizers placed on the market, the identification of new sources of industrial pollution, as well as pharmaceutical (residues of active drugs rejected by individuals) actually pose new technological challenges to the treatment. In its basic configuration, they are mainly used for the removal of carbon compounds present in soluble form, such as sugars, fats, proteins, etc., for which solutions physico-chemical means are often inefficient, costly, or difficult to implement. These are harmful to the environment since their degradation involves the consumption of dissolved oxygen in water necessary for the survival of aquatic animals. The purpose of biological treatment is to remove the soluble organic pollution by microorganisms, mainly bacteria. The heterotrophic microorganisms that use organic matter as a source of carbon and energy, have a dual action: The organic material is partially removed in gaseous form during carbon mineralization with CO2 production in aerobic processes and biogas (CH4 + CO2) in anaerobic processes, and partly transformed into solid particles consisting of micro-organisms resulting from bacterial growth. These particles can be easily separated from the liquid phase by physico-chemical means such as settling for example. If necessary, the transformation of ammonium ions (NH4 +) to nitrate (NO3-) or nitrification, which may be performed simultaneously. These methods can also remove nitrogen and phosphorus by biological method through the implementation of additional steps in the treatment process: setting up an anoxic tank, an anaerobic pond, etc. Sewage treatment is a very urgent topic these days, so it is very important to put all your efforts in order to create a good research proposal on the subject.
